Job Description

As a major retailer within the UK outdoor furniture market, Rattan Direct are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Procurement Manager with experience in sourcing and purchasing products from China or the Far East. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including negotiations, critical path management, supplier management, and project management. 


Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives and targets. 
    • Source and purchase products from China or the Far East, negotiating the best possible prices and payment terms. 
    • Manage the critical path for all NPD procurement projects, ensuring delivery of goods on time and within budget. 
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate communication throughout the procurement process. 
    • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where necessary. 
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function. 
    • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Utilize Excel and other tools to manage procurement data and develop reports to inform decision making. 

Requirements:

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on purchasing products from China or the Far East.

    • Strong project management skills, including experience managing critical paths and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. 
    • Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings. 
    • Strong supplier management skills, with experience developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers. 
    • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate data and develop reports. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies related to procurement.
