Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network (EPN) is a Christian, not for profit, independent NGO committed to the provision of quality pharmaceutical services as a means to achieving global goals and targets on health and access to medicines. EPN is a worldwide network of associations, institutions, and individuals who have an interest or are involved in the delivery  of just and compassionate quality pharmaceutical services.


Responsibilities:

    Objective

      • The objective of this assignment is to build-up and strengthen the financial capacities of the EPN with respect to policy formulation to guide the process development of fundraising and investment options that would generate maximum gain while minimizing risks and in line with the competences of the EPN and its constitution/strategic plan.

    Scope of Work

      • The Consultant is required to provide support to EPN and the Board at the level of planning, policy formulation and putting appropriate mechanism for the engagement and resource mobilization and resultant investment options open to EPN to be able to maximize returns.

    The Consultant is required to:

      • Develop a versatile resource mobilization strategy to reduce dependency on donor funds.
      • Develop a detailed investment plan for investment funds raised and advise EPN, on which funds, organizations, industries, asset classes, and places to invest into as a part of the investment allocation strategy
      • Develop a training plan for staff to build capacities in managing resources.

    Key deliverables:

      • An Investment Plan with recommendation on investments and securities
      • Analyze industry trends to determine implications for investment activity.
      • Probable policy to guide investment plans
      • Evaluate the suitability and attractiveness of locations for different types of investment and benchmark them with competitors.
      • Develop strategies for investment based on risk.
      • Support the development of internal processes, methodologies, templates and tools for Investment.

Requirements:

    Qualifications

      • A university degree in Economics or other related fields is required. An advanced degree is desirable, or equivalent professional experience.

    Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

      • Ability to quickly analyze and understand investment patterns and drivers in a diverse range of sectors.
      • Capacity to break down complex relationships, investment and describe these clearly.
      • Proven research skills
      • Excellent writing and presentation skills
      • Business orientation
