Job Description

The Drone Operator is responsible for the safe, on-time and efficient operations of the UAS and the end-to-end operational cycle (setup, data capture, processing, and management)to ensure exceptional delivery of service to the customer.


Responsibilities:

    • The operation and safety of the UAS, its payload, and the safety of all flight crew members.

    • The safe operation of UAS in accordance with its standard operating procedures.

    • Acting in accordance with the companies’ operational procedures.

    • Complying with applicable regulatory requirements and supporting documents.

    • Develop, control, enforce, and monitor all UAS maintenance in accordance with the standard operating procedures; scheduled or unscheduled.

    • Investigate all significant defects in the UAS and maintain a record of UAS defects and any unserviceability.

    • Maintain thorough technical knowledge of UAS operating under the authority of the ROC.

    • Ensuring that you are in a “fit to fly” condition; both physically and mentally.

    • Support capability development of UAS application

    • Make recommendations for Operations and Business model improvement.

    • Execute a full operations project from planning to implementation and results reporting.

Requirements:

    • A Diploma in relevant field from a reputable Institution.

    • A Degree will be an added advantage.

    • A valid RPL License issued or recognized by KCAA, in Multirotor and Fixed Wing category.

       
    • Six (6) months experience in relevant field is desirable.

    • He/She must have logged50 UAS FH.

      Additional Details

    • A valid Driver’s License

    • Successfully completed2 take-offs and landings under daylight or night conditions in the last 90 days on the Multirotor and Fixed Wing Drone.

    • Knowledge of UAS Flight and Operations Management

    • Knowledge of the Kenyan UAS regulations

    • Must be Computer Proficient, with excellent knowledge in MS applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    • Must have ability to interact professionally with varying personalities and all levels within the organization.

    • Knowledgeable about our product users and the aviation industry.

    • User centric and enthusiastic about working with UAS.

    • Organized and able to work within stipulated deadlines.

    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
